Methodology

How we decide

Every “best”, “top”, and “question” on Rosesake follows the same editorial process.

1. Start with the search intent

Before writing a word, we define which of the three intents a piece serves:

  • Best — the reader is deciding and wants a recommendation (commercial intent).
  • Top — the reader wants a curated ranking or list (rankings intent).
  • Questions — the reader needs a clear answer to a specific problem (informational intent).

2. Research from primary sources

We use the product, read the documentation, check the pricing page, test support, and cross-reference independent reviews and community discussion. Secondary sources are treated as clues, not conclusions.

3. Apply consistent criteria

Within each category we score candidates against the same criteria — performance, price, support, security, and ease of use — weighted by what that audience actually cares about.

4. Publish the answer up front

Each article leads with the direct takeaway. Detail, context, and caveats follow. Readers should never have to scroll through filler to find the answer.

5. Review, update, and correct

Articles carry published and updated dates. We track reader feedback and re-test rankings when the market changes. When we get something wrong, we correct it publicly rather than quietly editing history.

6. Disclose honestly

Where affiliate relationships exist, our terms page discloses them. Money never buys a ranking; the day it does will be the day we close this site.
